Introduction
The main training air base of the Turkish Air Force is situated near Izmir on the western coast of Tureky . There are two air bases actually: Izmir-Cigli and Izmir-Kakliç. Geographically, they are two separate entities event though they are separated by only 1 or 2 kilometers. Together they form the 2nci Jet Üs Uçus Okul (2nd Jet Training Base ). Cigli is the largest, being home to 121 Filo (Northrop T-38A), 122 Filo (Cessna T-37B/C) and 125 Filo (CASA CN-235 and Bell UH-1H). A bit to the west is Kakliç which houses the SIAI SF.260D of 123 Filo. The Eurocopter AS.532AL/ULs of 125 Filo also operate from Kakliç.
